Johannesburg- We are not yet halfway through the year 2021, and Ambitiouz Entertainment artists already own it. The award-winning record label wishes to congratulate Miss Pru, LaSauce, Kid Tini, Blaq Diamond, Intaba Yase Dubai and Malome Vector for walking away with eight prestigious nominations at the 27th edition of the South African Music Awards (SAMAs). The SAMA27 finalists were announced on Wednesday, 19 May 2021 and Friday, 21 May 2021.
Our talented artists are among the prime movers who made an impact with their hits. They pushed and worked harder in a year where the world was faced with a deadly virus, Corona Virus. Their songs made it to the charts and kept people sane during the most difficult time.
Price To Pay by Miss Pru featuring Blaq Diamond and Malome Vector which has over three million views has bagged two nominations- Record of the Year and Music Video of the Year. The multitalented DJ is no stranger to the Music Video of the Year category as she walked away with its award for her hit single, Ameni at the 23rd edition of the SAMAs which made her the first female DJ to win a SAMA.
|“Price To Pay is a big song, I do feel that we deserve the nomination because we worked hard and it was on every chart. I am excited because being nominated for the SAMAs does not happen to everyone. Receiving recognition for our hard work is big enough, bringing the award home would be a bonus,” says the thrilled DJ.||Lesotho born rapper and songwriter, Malome Vector has also scored his very first SAMA nomination for his debut single, Dumelang featuring Blaq Diamond. He is overjoyed as he did not expect his debut single to be this big, and he hopes to bring the award home.|
Blaq Diamond have proved to be the hardest working duo by walking away with two nominations in the same category, Record of the Year, for their songs Love Letter and SummerYoMuthi. Both the songs have over nine million YouTube views and the duo have recently received platinum plaques for both them. Blaq Diamond are currently holding on to the SAMA record of the Year title for Ibhanoyi.
The 26-year-olds are featured in Miss Pru’s Price To Pay and Malome Vector’s Dumelang, which means they have been nominated three times in the Record of the Year category and twice in Music Video of the Year. They stand a chance to walk away with five awards in one night.
This is what Blaq Diamond had to say about their nominations:
“It is a blessing and humbling to receive all these nominations. We try by all means to put out the most authentic and high quality music. We are very sure that SummerYoMuthi is the biggest song, for us that is already a win, receiving an award will be a blessing. If Miss Pru and Malome Vector bring an award home, it would be a win for Blaq Diamond too.”
Intaba Yase Dubai has been nominated for Best Collaboration alongside Big Zulu and Ricky Rick for their famous song, Mali Eningi which now sits just above nine million YouTube views. LaSauce earned a nomination in the Best R&B/Soul Album category for her album, Sindisiwe released on July 2020. Kid Tini who dropped his sophomore album, The Second Coming in December 2020 scored a nomination for the Best Engineered Album of the Year.
Ambitiouz Entertainment is rooting for all the seven artists and we wish the best of luck.
